Transformation Koru Art

We have been learning about transformation.

Tyler's piece won the competition judged by Miss Waho.
She liked the use of colour and line in this piece.

Hayley's colourful piece shows rotation.
Miss Waho liked this one alot too!

Blake's piece shows reflection. There are two lines of symmetry in his art.

Skyla's piece also shows reflection. Here piece has one line of symmetry.

Tru took great care creating her art.

Nevaeh's colourful piece is a great example of reflection.

Oliver worked really hard creating his piece.
He has used purple and blue, which are both cool colours.

  1. Wow! These are very cool pieces of art work, they will make your room look spectacular. Great colours. I especially like how others will be able to learn about transformation by looking at your work. The koru was a great choice too as it is very special to New Zealand. What does the koru symbolise? I wonder if someone from Tawa class can find out and maybe present some information about it???
    Keep up the fantastic work!

  2. I felt very honoured to be asked to judge these pieces of art but then when I actually looked at them all I found it very difficult. I wanted to name all pieces of work the winner because I liked things about each one of them. I too am a huge fan of the koru and love seeing this artwork being displayed in our corridor. Ka pai te mahi toi o Tawa.

  3. Koia kei a koe - You are awesome! Love the bright colours, what a great way to show your learning. What is the difference between reflection and rotation?
